Home Sweet Home...

Well I don't know if Spence or I really consider this home sweet home just yet. We like Omaha but don't consider it home. Everyone here says by the time we leave we are going to be sooo sad. I don't know about that... but we'll see. So we have lived here for about 3 months and have been working like crazy to get this placed fixed up. We have been painting, caulking, re-carpeting... replacing baseboards, carpet, and installing wood floors. The list is never ending and the sad part is we still aren't done, but it is definitely an improvement. So here it is our new/old place.

Living Room

After living in chaos for a few months it is nice to have a place to sit down and relax.

Kitchen
It's small but it fits our tea party table perfectly. I'm not a big time cooker so I don't really need a big time kitchen.

Kelan's Room
I won't let him have a car's room (which Spence thinks is so cruel) but I do let him have a few car accessories.

Our Bathroom

Our Bedroom

We haven't done anything here and we haven't finished our backroom. We got a little burnt out... someday.

PotTy tRaiNinG UpdAtE...

Kelan is awesome and has been doing such a great job. I am doing this thing called 3 day Potty Training. So far so good... we are on day four and he hasn't wet his bed once during the night or during his 3 hour naps. I would have to say he isn't quite there but he tells me when he has to go pee pee and that is more than I could have expected 3 days ago. We are still working on the poop thing but he is getting there. I don't understand why kids would rather go poop in their pants than sit on the toilet and not have that nastiness in there pants. I guess people say they are afraid of it... who knew?

We have made quite the improvement seeing how this is where we started... Good job Kelan!! I am so proud of you.

Summer Break Craziness...

Spencer had a month off between semesters so we decided to take advantage of this. We pretty much went non stop for the whole month. I think we traveled through about 14 states on our road trip extravaganza. We started the break off in North Carolina with Stephen and Afton. We had an awesome time hanging out with Afton's family. Kelan loved Grandma Tina and hanging out with his cousin Brooks. Then we had a few days at home before we headed off to St. Louis and then down to Texas. We had a blast in Texas at the Anderson Family Reunion thanks to Ryan and Carrie.

Brooks and Kelan pretty much have no choice in whether or not they want to play baseball.

Brooks was a bit of a party pooper.

Kelan Loved baby Brooks. He couldn't keeps his hands and lips off him.

HaPpY BiRthDaY to YoU!!!
Spencer turned 26... We're getting old. We went to the batting cages and the boys loved it. Kelan kept telling the balls to slow down. He was getting a little nervous for his dad.

Kelan had to help his dad blow out the candles... there were just way to many to do it alone.

The boys holding Ava and Elsie. It was so nice to be there for their baby blessings.

We went to Chuck- E- Cheese's and the kids loved it. Carver loved cruising with Chuckie.

The twins were still a little young for partying at C-E-C.

Kelan and Kaydree look like they are hating life but they really did love it.

Kelan might get a little crazy behind the wheel.

Trying to stay cool in Texas is a little impossible... but we all did our best.

We all had a blast at the swim park.

Kelan and Aunt Afton having a chicken fight.

Boot shopping... Kelan picked out the snake skin boots. He thought he was pretty cool.

Cute boots but a little expensive for me. Who knew trying to be a cowgirl could be so pricey.

All the babies hanging out... You've gotta love those peaceful moments.

Fun, Fun, Fun for the 4th!!

We had a fun 4th of July part-A-ying it up in Omaha. Spencer decided to start the festivities off a little early in Kansas City. Him and his buddy Zack took a road trip Monday night to a Collective Soul concert. They made it back in time to get a quick nap in before school the next day.

Then we took Kelan on his first camping trip. He loved every minute of it. When we were all sitting around talking Kelan got into the tent and pulled out our white pillow and his sleeping bag. We looked over and there he was going "night night" on the grass outside of the tent.

Lily and Joe K-I-S-S-I-N-G in the tent. Kelan was a little upset about this because she is his girlfriend.

Joe and Kelan just lounging around.

Spencer picking his nose while Zack does all the work.

Kelan loved the sparklers. I am just very grateful he didn't burn himself or anyone else while he was running around with these things.

Spencer, Zack, Katie, Andrea and Danton getting creative with the sparklers. Spence got a little crazy with his J.

Kelan patiently waiting for the Firework show...

5 minutes later...

Yes we were SoAkeD from head to toe. We did make it to a Firework show the next night. This is the wonderful thing about Omaha... the great weather! One minute it is crystal clear and the next you are taking a shower outside.

Kelan very carefully sneaking a cupcake downstairs at Joe and Lily's 4th of July birthday party.

Happy 4th of July!!!

A much needed update...

We are still alive!!! We made it to Omaha safe and sound, thanks to Robert and Robyn and there amazing moving skills. We are still not completely settled into our place but we are slowly getting there. It has been a lot of work... I promise I will post pictures soon. We have also been busy with trips to the zoo, ballpark and of course California.

Spencer is staying super busy with school and we never get to see him... NOT! For those of you who know Spencer know that he studies at the last minute and only if it is absolutely necessary. This works out great for me and Kelan.

We made it to Winter Quarters. The temple is amazing.

The Baseball College World Series was in town this past week so we were able to make it to a few games.

At this game it was about 107 degrees, so me and Kelan only made it until the 3rd inning. Spencer of course stuck it out the whole time. That's a true baseball fan for you.

We live a few blocks from the stadium and the zoo. Every Friday night we can see and hear the fireworks and every week we take a trip to the zoo. Kelan loves it.

Can you find Kelan? He blends in so well wit the other monkeys.

This is by far Kelan's favorite part about the zoo. The choo choo ride.

Last but not least our trip to California.

All the boys patiently waiting for Aunt Meagan to get off the plane.

Aunt Meagan meeting Brayden for the first time.

Welcome Home Hermana Hawkes!! We love you and are so proud of you.
