Spencer was on call this year for Valentines Day so we decided that we would celebrate another weekend. Spencer surprised me with a gift card to the Marriott for Valentines day so that we would have to celebrate later. It seems like whenever we say we will do something later it never happens so that was a nice little surprise. We decided to stay close since it was just going to be two days. We went along the coast to Monterey, Carmel and Half Moon Bay. It was such a fun getaway. I am embarrassed to say this but this is only the second time Spencer and I have gone away kidless since we had Kelan. It was very nice and we will have to do it more often since the boys had so much fun with Grandma Nani.
There were so many fun things to take pictures of at the Aquarium. Love the Sea horses.
P. S. The Jelly fish swim upside down? Finding Nemo is wrong. You can't bounce on the tops of these things.
Touchy touch.
This Seagull would not leave us alone. It was making me a little nervous. I was afraid it was going to attack me for my food.
Cute at first but now you're a little creepy.
Carmel
We drove along the 17 mile drive which takes you through the beautiful mountains, right along the coast and past the famous Pebble Beach golf course.
The views were amazing.
It was so nice to do the drive without kids. I will have to say it may not have been as enjoyable with kids... especially ours. There definitely would have been throwing up in the back.
Beautiful.
Then we ended the night eating at Casanova's.
Our friends told us about this place and we were not disappointed. It is know as "Carmel's most Romantic Restaurant." It was such a cute place.
Half Moon Bay
We ended our Getaway here. We walked into this restaurant because we thought it looked fun and it was packed. They asked us if we had reservations? "Umm, nope." Luckily someone was finishing up and we scored an amazing table. The food was delicious and the view was perfect.
Spencer eating his seafood omelet. He said it was amazing, but I don't know... I didn't dare try it.
Beautiful beaches.
Monterey
We stopped in Monterey first and walked along Cannery Row, went to Monterey Bay Aquarium and ate some yummy food.

Beautiful.
You literally drive right by the green.
I will have to say that Carmel was definitely our favorite beach town we visited. There isn't much there but that is what makes it so beautiful.
We walked along the beach holding hands just enjoying the peacefulness. Ahhhhh.... so nice.
Watched the crazy surfers.
And seriously just enjoyed ourselves.

Thanks for the wonderful Getaway Spencer. It was so nice to have you all to myself. I love you!
